If a student has their own single room, we are allowing a Covid positive student to isolate in their room masked until their ride arrives.
Positive students who share a space, and can be picked up in 2 or less hours will temp isolate masked in their space until their ride arrives. We will also ask that their roommate mask if they are in the room as well.
Positive students sharing space who will not be picked up for over 2 hours will need to temp in Dogwood Village until ride arrives. Roommates will be encouraged to mask until the COVID positive student leaves for isolation.
AFTER 4:30 p.m.: We will suggest going home but as we move into the evening hours we will not send a student home in the middle of the night. They can remain temporarily in Dogwood Village until the next morning (early) as a safety precaution.We will follow the hourly isolation guidelines above after hours.
Students who have their own transportation, and the after-hours info below does not apply will be asked to mask while they pack their belongings, and to leave campus as soon as possible, assuming they are well enough to drive.
AFTER HOURS POSITIVE: (dusk and beyond)
- Ask student if they have they discussed their transportation plan home with parent/guardian.
- If student is comfortable driving home they may as long as this has been discussed and agreed by with family.
- AFTER 8 p.m.: We encourage the student to Temp in DV until the early morning (7:00 a.m. if they have a vehicle orbetween 8 a.m.-9 a.m.if a family member is their ride). Student may still choose to leave campus to isolate.
